This is a practical activity aimed at sharing and encouraging people in the storm-affected areas to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives after being severely impacted by typhoons No. 10 (Bualoi) and No. 11 (Matmo).
The program was attended by Professor, Doctor Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, Chairman of the National Medical Council, along with leaders from departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Health, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , the Vietnam Youth Union, the Nghe An Department of Health, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, the Nghe An Young Doctors Association, etc.
Over 50 doctors, pharmacists, and medical volunteers from central and local hospitals directly participated in examining patients, providing health advice, and distributing free medicine to 1,000 people, with special priority given to poor households, families receiving preferential treatment, pregnant women, the elderly, and children.
Speaking at the program, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive and compassionate spirit of the young medical staff, while affirming the profound humanitarian significance of the program. “Today’s actions not only bring medicine, equipment, and gifts, but also spread the spirit of mutual support, helping people gain more confidence and strength to overcome the aftermath of the natural disaster,” Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan emphasized.

In addition to general medical check-ups, the program included specialized examinations in internal medicine, gastroenterology, cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, and otolaryngology, along with advice on post-storm care and disease prevention. Residents also received practical gifts. Furthermore, the delegation donated 1,000 gift packages, provided basic medical equipment to two commune health stations (portable ultrasound machines, blood pressure monitors, electrocardiographs, medicine cabinets, etc.), and offered partial livelihood support to severely affected households, with a total mobilized resource of over 730 million VND.
This funding and in-kind donations were contributed by numerous businesses, organizations, and benevolent individuals, including medicines, medical equipment, nutritional gifts, and essential products. These include SOHACO Pharmaceutical and Trading Group Joint Stock Company, Lac Viet Hospital System, FPT Long Chau, Fonterra – Anlene Limited Company, Anlene Milk brand, Sao Thai Duong Joint Stock Company, Bayer Vietnam, Unilever Vietnam brand, and Kao Vietnam. The activities in Nghe An province mark the beginning of a series of programs titled "Young Doctors for Community Health - Joining Hands to Overcome the Consequences of Storms and Floods," launched by the Vietnam Young Doctors Association, targeting provinces severely affected by storms and floods. Through this series of activities, the Association hopes to continue spreading humanitarian values, the spirit of solidarity, and the responsibility of the medical sector towards community health, especially in disadvantaged areas after natural disasters.
