On the morning of June 11th, Thieu Hoa district held a ceremony to launch the "All People Practice Swimming to Prevent Drowning" campaign and the 2nd Swimming and Diving Competition - 2023.
The athletes competed in the various events of the tournament.
Nearly 400 people attended the ceremony, including representatives from the district leadership, district-level departments, organizations, and communes/towns, as well as people from all walks of life, and a large number of students, teachers, coaches, and athletes from Thieu Hoa district.

The leaders of Thieu Hoa district launched a campaign encouraging all citizens to practice swimming to prevent drowning and inaugurated the swimming and diving competition.
At the ceremony, representatives from the Thieu Hoa district leadership launched the "All People Practice Swimming to Prevent Drowning" movement throughout the district. They also called on families, schools, youth organizations, individuals, and businesses to provide opportunities for children and young people to practice swimming, self-defense skills, and safe swimming techniques to prevent drowning. This aims to continuously promote the development of swimming instruction and learning, creating beneficial and healthy recreational activities, improving health, physical fitness, stature, and preventing drowning for children, young people, and students, especially during this summer.

Following the opening ceremony, athletes began competing in the 2nd Thieu Hoa District Swimming and Diving Competition - 2023. The competition featured over 60 athletes from 19 teams, representing communes, towns, agencies, units, and sports clubs in the district. Athletes competed in individual freestyle swimming events for both men and women over a distance of 50m in age groups 10-12, 13-14, and 15-17. A total of 6 sets of medals were awarded.

Thanks to thorough preparation, participating teams invested in selecting high-quality athletes, contributing to improved performance and the attractiveness of the competitions. The organizing committee also ensured adequate facilities, equipment, and refereeing to make the tournament a success.
At the end of the competition, the organizing committee awarded medals and prizes to the athletes who achieved high rankings in the various events. Regarding the overall team results, first place went to Hong Ha Swimming Club. Second and third place went to Minh Tam commune and Thieu Vien commune, respectively.

Through this tournament, Thieu Hoa district will select outstanding athletes to participate in provincial-level competitions. At the Thanh Hoa Provincial Swimming and Diving Championship 2023, held in Nong Cong on June 3rd and 4th, Thieu Hoa district excellently secured second place overall.
