Amidst the vast rows of rubber and coffee trees of Regiment 720, Hoa Sim Kindergarten (belonging to Regiment 720) resounds with children's laughter every morning. There, teacher and party member Kieu Thi Xuan still works diligently like a busy bee every day, devoting all her heart and love to the profession of "cultivating people" in remote areas. After more than 20 years of dedication, she has become a sower of knowledge, lighting the fire of love for many generations of students who are children of cadres, workers and ethnic minorities.

For Ms. Xuan, taking care of children is not only a responsibility but also a love and a mission. Every morning, she welcomes each child with a gentle smile, asks them questions, pats their heads, ties their hair, and neatly adjusts their clothes. In the classroom, she flexibly changes her teaching methods: sometimes she transforms into a fairy telling stories, sometimes she is a doctor, an artist, or a soldier, helping children learn, play, and understand more about the world around them.

Shy, timid children are always given special attention by her, holding their hands to play, encouraging them with every word, and coaxing them to sleep. She said: "Children are like bamboo shoots, only when cared for with all their heart, will they grow up healthy and innocent." Each meal and sleep of the children is carefully prepared by her and her colleagues, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and adequate nutrition.

Ms. Le Thi Ai Duyen, a colleague at the same school, shared: “Ms. Xuan is not only a good teacher but also an example of the sense of responsibility of a party member. She is always exemplary in all her work, wholeheartedly helps her colleagues and is devoted to her students. For her, nothing is small if it brings joy to children.”

Not only dedicated in class, in addition to regular classes, Ms. Xuan also spends time helping families in the unit. On holidays or late afternoons, her house is filled with laughter, as the children of staff and workers are sent to her for help so that they can work with peace of mind. "Seeing the children play well, eat and sleep regularly, I feel happy and warm. Taking care of children is never tiring, as long as you truly love them," she smiled gently.

Despite her dedication, she is also very creative. From seemingly discarded materials such as milk cartons, plastic bottles, cardboard, dry leaves, etc., she skillfully turns them into lively teaching aids such as house models, animals, and musical toys. These products not only make lessons more interesting but also teach children to save, love work, and protect the environment.

It is her love for the job and her kindness that has helped her gain the trust of parents. Mr. Sung A Mang (Quang Tan commune, Lam Dong province), a Mong parent whose child studies at Hoa Sim Kindergarten, emotionally said: “My child used to be shy and often cried when he went to class. Thanks to Ms. Xuan, he is now much more bold and active. She is always gentle and patient in coaxing and taking care of every meal and sleep for the children. Whenever my child is a little tired, she pays attention, holds him and coaxes him like a mother. Many times when my child comes home, she still tells me stories about Ms. Xuan feeding him and telling him fairy tales. I feel really secure and grateful to the teacher.”

With her sincere and kind heart, Ms. Xuan has sown in the hearts of the people in the project area a simple but profound belief that no matter where they are, dedicated teachers are still a solid support for the future of children.

The devoted "Second Sister" of the women's movement

When school is out, Ms. Xuan takes on another “role,” Vice President of the Women’s Union of Regiment 720. With the sense of responsibility of an exemplary party member, she is always proactive and creative in organizing activities, linking union work with the political tasks of the unit.

She believes: "If women want to progress, they must connect, share and help each other develop economically and assert themselves." From that thought, she and the Executive Committee of the association innovated the content and form of activities, turning dry meetings into soft skills classes, child-rearing seminars, or cultural, sports, folk dance and art activities to create a joyful and united atmosphere in the unit.

Many practical models were initiated and effectively maintained by her such as: "Women doing good business", "Interest-free revolving capital" helping dozens of members start businesses and escape poverty sustainably. In particular, the program "Contributing fire to keep warm", mobilizing donations and supporting the construction of "Shelters of love" for women in difficult circumstances, has become a bright spot, spreading the spirit of mutual love and support in the community.

The work in the association is stressful, but Ms. Xuan always maintains an optimistic, friendly, and harmonious spirit. To the women in the unit, she is like a dedicated "big sister", always ready to listen, encourage, and help when anyone is in trouble. For her, happiness is simply seeing the smiles of her students and the progress and solidarity of the women in the unit.

Collect love, spread faith

No matter what position she holds, party member Kieu Thi Xuan still maintains her passion for her profession and her kind heart. She always considers living, working and contributing in a military environment a great source of pride for a soldier on the educational front.

She confided: “Every day I go to school, hearing the children's laughter, seeing the women in the unit unite and make progress, I have more motivation to try harder. For me, being able to contribute even a small amount is happiness.”

Those simple things have created a great influence. She is not only the one who “sows letters” to children, but also the one who instills confidence and gives strength to her comrades and people. With the spirit of a pioneering party member, she quietly collects each love, each small action, to light up the belief in a bright future in remote areas.

In the midst of the Central Highlands, the image of Major Kieu Thi Xuan is like a flower that persistently spreads its fragrance. In her, people see the simplicity of a kindergarten teacher, the bravery of a soldier and the kind heart of a Vietnamese woman in the new era. Each lesson, each work, each sharing of hers is a beautiful note in the harmony of building a cultural life, cultivating the military-civilian relationship in the southernmost Central Highlands. She does not talk much about herself, just quietly contributes, quietly sows love. But it is that silence that creates a great spreading power like the scent of wild flowers in the midst of the great forest, the simpler the more lasting. To her comrades and people, Major Kieu Thi Xuan is forever a "beautiful flower in the midst of the great forest", shining with a pure heart, bright mind and infinite love for children, comrades, and compatriots, a living proof of the noble qualities of "Women in the Army are kind, intelligent, brave, loyal, and responsible".
