This evening (September 12th), the leaders of the People's Committee of An Lao District, Hai Phong City, confirmed that Army Major Tang Ba Hung, born in 1978, from Thanh Lang commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province, met with an accident and passed away while on duty assisting the people.

Major Hung is a driver in Company 1, Battalion 1, Brigade 653 (Logistics Department - Military Region 3), stationed in the area and living with his family in Truong Son town, An Lao district.

On September 10th, the People's Committee of Truong Son town sent a document to Brigade 653 requesting manpower support to overcome the consequences of typhoon No. 3.

On September 11th, the commander of Battalion 1 dispatched six people, including Major Tang Ba Hung, on a mission in Truong Son town. At over 1:45 PM that same day, Major Hung and several members of his unit were trimming fallen trees and clearing debris when they were electrocuted.

Immediately after discovering the incident, people shouted to cut off the power and took the victim to Kien An Hospital for emergency treatment, but Major Hung did not survive.

Mr. Pham Van Tien, residing in Xuan Ang residential area, Truong Son town, who directly coordinated with the unit to mitigate the aftermath of the storm, shared that in the past few days, Major Hung had worked tirelessly with the people to clean up and repair the damage caused by the storm. Seeing Major Hung in distress, the people here were deeply saddened and grieved.

Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Gia Thuong, Chief of Staff of Brigade 653, said that Major Tang Ba Hung is an exemplary soldier who always excellently fulfills his duties. During stormy days, Major Hung is always on duty, ready for combat at the unit. Upon receiving a request for cooperation from the People's Committee of Truong Son town, when the unit deployed for a mission, Major Hung volunteered to join his comrades in mitigating the consequences of the storm.
