Actress Thu Quynh was a guest at the discussion on Cyber Safety for Students organized by Tien Phong newspaper, Vietnam Student Association in collaboration with British University Vietnam on the morning of October 30.

From her own experience, Thu Quynh shares many skills and experiences for students when encountering unexpected problems on social networks.

Five years ago, while taking her child out, Thu Quynh received many phone calls from acquaintances. She was shocked when a sensitive video mentioning "My Wolf" (her character in the movie Quynh Doll ) was spread on social networks.

"Many acquaintances and friends called me, asking if the person in the clip was Thu Quynh. Some even advised me that if it was true, I should admit it so that people could help intervene," the actress said.

Regarding the incident, Thu Quynh chose to remain silent on social media and calmly and thoroughly resolve the issue. She asked the authorities to resolve the issue and discovered that the account spreading the video had an address abroad. The only way to handle it immediately was to block the video from being broadcast on social media platforms in Vietnam.

“We are protected when we participate in cyberspace. Instead of going online to argue and argue, causing the story to go too far, let's ask the authorities to seek timely protection and support,” said the actress.

Actress Thu Quynh said that there were scandals that fell from the sky but she still had to deal with the media crisis. She overcame those because she had family, friends, and fans to accompany her.

However, it is important to equip yourself with knowledge and personal awareness to protect yourself on social networks and promptly report to the authorities to resolve the incident.

Courage and knowledge help Thu Quynh weather the storm on the internet. She said that sometimes she still receives harassing messages or false comments on her personal page from hundreds of fake social network accounts. She believes that carefully studying the features of social networks is also a way for each person to "turn on the mode" to protect themselves.
