Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam appointed as General Director of VTV.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications , has been appointed by the Prime Minister to the position of Director General of Vietnam Television (VTV).

The Prime Minister has decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, to the position of Director General of Vietnam Television (VTV). The term of appointment is 5 years.

The decision takes effect from November 1, 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam has taken over the position at VTV, replacing Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, who was transferred by the Politburo to the position of Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee on October 31st.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam was born in 1972 and is from Hanoi.

Prior to becoming Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam worked for many years at VTV, having previously held positions such as General Director of VTC Digital Television, Director of the Broadcasting and Television Department, and Director of the Press Department.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam was appointed Deputy Minister of Information and Communications in September 2022.
