On August 14, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh had a meeting and worked with General Director of Google Vietnam Marc Woo.

In an open and friendly atmosphere, the two sides reviewed the cooperation achievements over the past time and discussed future strategic cooperation orientations, especially in the context of Vietnam promoting the development of cultural industry, entertainment industry and digital transformation in the fields of culture, sports and tourism.

At the beginning of the working session, Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh welcomed Mr. Marc Woo to work at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Deputy Minister highly appreciated Google's opening of a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City and congratulated Mr. Marc Woo on his successful term in Vietnam.

Mr. Marc Woo expressed his honor to work with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism - one of the ministries that he has always been interested in and attached to. He was pleased to witness the strong and positive changes in Vietnam, especially in the fields of tourism , sports, and culture. Mr. Marc Woo also expressed his optimism about the efforts of the Vietnamese Government, especially Resolution 57, with the goal of promoting digitalization, applying AI and technology to empower Vietnamese businesses and people.

At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the cooperation projects between Google and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the past through the Google Arts & Culture platform. Vietnam has had the opportunity to introduce its beauty, culture, and heritage to the world, especially recently the support to promote Vietnam at EXPO Osaka 2025 in Japan.

In addition, the two sides have successfully coordinated to implement the project "Wonders of Vietnam" (January 2021) with 35 online exhibitions and more than 1,300 photos of famous tourist attractions, heritages, natural landscapes, culture and cuisine of Vietnam, honoring natural landscapes, tangible and intangible heritages recognized by UNESCO; "Vibrant Vietnam" (July 2024) introduces the community of 54 ethnic groups along with diverse natural features stretching from North to South of Vietnam, thereby depicting the deep connection between human life and nature and highlighting the unique and valuable cultural features of Vietnam.

At the same time, Google cooperated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize workshops, training programs, and workshops to improve capacity and digital skills for small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam, including tourism businesses; and to create video clips to promote Vietnamese tourism with new approaches to attract the participation of content creators. This is the premise for the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to initiate the Vietnamese tourism promotion program on YouTube "Vietnam: Go to Love!" from 2021. The program was honored to receive the Second Prize (2022) and Third Prize (2024) at the National Award for External Information organized by the Central Propaganda Department (now the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department).

Currently, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is collaborating with YouTube to organize a travel video creation contest on YouTube Shorts with the message "Go to chill, feel to love" (from July 9, 2025 to September 9, 2025). The contest was launched on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam tourism industry and practically responds to the 2025 Tourism Development Stimulus Program of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Mr. Marc Woo emphasized the strong development potential of the gaming industry in Vietnam and expressed his impression of the dynamism and creativity of this community. Google has supported Gameverse, a major event in the gaming industry, for many years. Google Play has also participated in providing in-depth knowledge, sharing the latest tools and features to help Vietnamese game developers create high-quality and globally competitive products.

  Google continues to promote projects to promote Vietnamese tourism culture.

Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh shared the positive changes of Vietnam in recent years. He proposed that Google join in promoting and spreading the image of Vietnam globally, showing a modern, dynamic and strongly developing Vietnam.

In particular, in the context of the whole country looking forward to the 80th Anniversary of National Day September 2, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes that Google will support the promotion of these meaningful activities on digital platforms, using advanced technology to convey the spirit of patriotism and achievements of Vietnam to international friends. To develop a sustainable cultural industry, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests Google to continue to expand in-depth training courses in many fields such as journalism, tourism and games.

Notably, the Permanent Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of using technology to protect copyright. He suggested that Google continue to develop and apply AI and innovative tools to control and protect copyright more effectively, ensuring a healthy digital environment for authors and content creators.

The Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism expressed his confidence in the strategic partnership between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Google, believing that this cooperation will bring many common benefits, contributing to promoting the sustainable development of Vietnam's culture, sports and tourism industry, while improving digital skills for people, making Vietnam a digital and globally integrated country./.
