Prime Minister proposes Türkiye open market for Vietnamese goods

This morning, November 29 local time, within the framework of his official visit to Turkey, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Turkish Minister of Trade Omer Bolat.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated Turkey on its great achievements in recent years, particularly in diversifying its economy , developing industries, agriculture, and construction, promoting the application of science and technology, expanding international economic relations, and making Turkey a country with encouraging growth. The Vietnamese Prime Minister highly appreciated the role and contributions of the Turkish Ministry of Commerce in developing the Turkish economy as well as promoting Vietnam-Turkey economic cooperation.

To create breakthroughs in economic and trade cooperation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Turkish Ministry of Commerce and the Minister personally to continue coordinating with ministries and agencies of both countries to promote a number of specific measures such as studying the early initiation of negotiations on a Vietnam-Turkey Free Trade Agreement (FTA) at an appropriate time, organizing the 8th Session of the Vietnam-Turkey Intergovernmental Committee in Ankara in 2024, strengthening the organization of trade and investment promotion activities between businesses and localities of the two countries, opening markets, creating conditions for strong export products of each country to penetrate each other's markets, and lifting anti-dumping measures against goods and services of the partner.

The Turkish Minister of Trade welcomed the visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, thanked the Prime Minister for taking the time to receive him, and affirmed that the visit is an important milestone in the celebration of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations and will promote effective economic cooperation between the two countries. Turkish Minister of Trade Omer Bolat congratulated the important economic achievements that Vietnam has achieved in recent times, and expressed his joy at the positive developments in cooperation between Vietnam and Türkiye in recent times, especially in trade and investment cooperation.

The Minister affirmed that Vietnam is Türkiye's top priority economic partner in the Asia-Pacific region. Minister Omer Bolat said that after initial successful investment projects, more and more Turkish corporations and businesses are interested in the Vietnamese market, especially in Turkey's strong fields of construction, industrial production, consumer goods, etc. He also announced plans to organize a Turkish business delegation to Vietnam in 2024.
