On the morning of December 3, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation worked with a delegation of the Suwon City Labor Union (Korea) led by Mr. Seo Jong-chang, Chairman of the Suwon City Labor Union, to visit and work in Hai Phong.
At the meeting, comrade Nguyen Van Quyet, Permanent Vice President of the City Labor Federation, provided general information about the geographical location and socio-economic development situation of Hai Phong city after the administrative unit merger.
After the merger, Hai Phong now has a population of over 4.6 million people, among the largest cities in Vietnam. The system of industrial parks and export processing zones of the largest city in the North has more than 20 industrial parks and clusters.
The investment environment in Hai Phong is attractive, attracting large international corporations to invest, including more than 160 Korean enterprises such as LG Group, Bridgestone, Kyocera, Haengsung... creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers.

Currently, Hai Phong Trade Union system is among the provinces and cities with the largest Trade Union system in Vietnam with 2,820 grassroots trade unions and nearly 600,000 union members.
In order to meet the integration requirements, Hai Phong Trade Union is the leading unit in piloting the model of "Socialist grassroots trade union"; strongly transforming digitally through the Huong Cong app - Hai Phong Trade Union; implementing the model of "Safe and civilized boarding houses" at 300 worker boarding houses; building 100 Union physical training points; directly taking care of 140,000 union members and workers enjoying welfare regimes; enhancing soft skills and foreign language training (Korean, English) for workers...
The city's trade union also proactively coordinates with the police force and businesses to ensure worker safety and security, and to forecast and promptly resolve labor disputes.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged information, shared practical experiences, and discussed solutions to improve the quality of trade union activities in the two localities, such as: Methods of negotiating and signing collective labor agreements; ensuring worker safety and security; solutions to combat "black" credit among workers; disseminating legal policies to union members and workers; ensuring safety for workers when participating in traffic...
Representatives of the Trade Union organizations of the two localities agreed to regularly carry out cooperation activities, share information and experience to improve capacity and promote the role of representatives to protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
Through the union's activities, solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two cities in particular and the two countries in general will be strengthened.
