The above information was mentioned by Party Central Committee member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh at a press conference on the afternoon of October 20 about the expected program of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

The 8th session of the 15th National Assembly will hold a preparatory meeting and solemnly open tomorrow morning (October 21), and is expected to close on the morning of November 30.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh said that the 8th Session was held right after the great success of the 10th Central Conference, with the spirit of looking back on the past time, the whole country focused, made efforts to break through, and effectively implemented the set goals in the context of the complicated world situation.

" Given the importance of this session, General Secretary and President To Lam will speak at the opening session. This session has the most content, many draft laws, many new issues, including supervision issues, including amending the Law on Supervision, " said Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh.

According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, this session has the largest workload since the beginning of the 15th tenure, with many major issues being considered and discussed, aiming to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in terms of institutions and policies, unblock resources, and overcome bottlenecks, all for the socio-economic development of the country and to ensure people's lives.

The National Assembly Standing Committee has worked with the Government many times, held many sessions to set out the agenda of the session, with 31 legislative tasks, 16 socio-economic tasks, more than 80 projects, and 132/154 official documents sent to National Assembly deputies.

" Another new point is to agree to reduce the time for reading documents in the hall, to spend more time for the National Assembly to discuss; to increase the time for discussion in groups, to reduce the time for discussion in the hall to receive more opinions, " said Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh, emphasizing that the National Assembly works 4 days a Saturday and is ready to work in the evening.

At the press conference, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Economic Committee Phan Duc Hieu said that the investment policy dossier for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis was submitted by the Government yesterday (October 19). The Economic Committee will coordinate with the National Assembly's agencies to thoroughly examine this content.

" Because the Government has just submitted, all the contents regarding capital as well as land for the project and other important contents are currently unclear, but the Economic Committee determined that the examination of the investment policy of the North-South High-Speed Railway Project is an extremely important task, so it will take a lot of time to implement, " said Mr. Phan Duc Hieu.

Regarding the issue of the pilot project to expand land for commercial housing at the 7th Session, which was expected to be submitted to the National Assembly, but due to slow preparation of documents, it was not submitted, Mr. Phan Duc Hieu said that currently, the Government has just completed the procedures, if it wants to submit to the National Assembly, it will have to add it to the law and ordinance building program, then the Economic Committee will review it.

" We still have to wait for the Government to officially submit the documents to take the next steps ," the Standing Member of the Economic Committee emphasized.
