General Secretary To Lam meets with some typical Finnish businesses

Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Finland, on the afternoon of October 21 local time, in the capital Helsinki, General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation met with typical Finnish businesses.

At the meeting, Finnish Minister of Employment Matias Marttinen emphasized that Finnish businesses are proud to be active partners in Vietnam's growth journey in the fields of clean energy, digitalization, information technology, construction, maritime, and water management.

Finland sees Vietnam not only as a dynamic and rapidly growing market, but also as a partner in creating smart, green and sustainable growth.

Looking to the future, Finland sees great potential in strengthening cooperation with Vietnam. Finland is ready to cooperate with Vietnam to bring the bilateral relationship to a new level.

At the meeting, representatives of leading Finnish enterprises in the fields of circular economy , industry - energy, technology - services - infrastructure shared their enthusiastic ideas, valuable experiences and specific cooperation directions between Vietnam and Finland.

Representatives of typical Finnish enterprises proposed a number of solutions to open up new cooperation spaces, in line with the development trends of the times and the strategic interests of both countries.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam stated that Vietnam-Finland cooperation after more than 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations has continuously developed increasingly deeper, more comprehensive and more substantial. The General Secretary was pleased to announce that within the framework of this official visit, the relationship between the two countries has been upgraded to a Strategic Partnership. This is a great opportunity to promote economic, trade and investment relations, which are important pillars in bilateral cooperation, to new heights.

The General Secretary was particularly impressed by the open and substantive spirit of cooperation of Finnish businesses - partners with world-leading experience in innovation, green technology and effective governance. This made both sides more confident in the future of cooperation between the two countries.

The General Secretary shared that the world has been experiencing many complex and unpredictable changes not only in geopolitics but also in economics and trade, with the emergence of both new opportunities and challenges. With the efforts, determination and consensus of the Party, State and People, Vietnam has maintained comprehensive stability and strong development, becoming a bright spot in growth and development in the region and the world.

The General Secretary affirmed that economic, investment and trade cooperation has always been a solid pillar and the main driving force for bilateral relations. Vietnam is continuing to promote a high-quality development strategy, focusing on science and technology, green economy, digital transformation and innovation. Vietnam is also expanding its market with international partners; constantly improving the investment environment and protecting the legitimate rights of foreign investors; promoting breakthrough, superior, flexible and more favorable policies.

Welcoming the proposals of Finnish enterprises in the field of circular economy - a development model that Vietnam is determined to strongly promote, the General Secretary said that Vietnam identifies enterprises as the center of development, the driving force to realize the aspiration of turning the country into a high-income developed country by 2045. The General Secretary stated that Vietnam is committed to continuing to strongly improve the investment and business environment, building a dynamic and transparent market economy, with innovation as the driving force and people as the center.

The General Secretary encouraged the business communities of the two countries to continue to enhance exchanges, connections, investments and cooperation in areas where both sides have similar strengths and needs such as renewable energy, clean industry, environmental technology, forest resource management, education, science - technology and innovation.

At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking delegations of Vietnam and Finland witnessed the handover ceremony of cooperation documents between the two countries.

On the same afternoon, in Helsinki, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, met with officials from the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Nordic countries (Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway).

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that he always listens to and values ​​recommendations with the aim of enhancing the value and position of Vietnam and creating the most favorable conditions for the overseas Vietnamese community to integrate into the life of the host country.

This is also a very important task of the Party and State towards the Vietnamese community abroad. The Vietnamese community abroad not only actively contributes to the development of the host countries, but also acts as ambassadors, cultural figures, and important bridges to promote cooperative relations between Vietnam and other countries.

Informing the people of some highlights of the country's situation, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that we have achieved many successes but at the same time we must ensure stable and sustainable development, not by any means, at any cost. The State also applies many policies to improve people's lives.

The General Secretary highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in Finland as well as in the Nordic countries for being very united, united, always looking towards the homeland and country, showing patriotism. People love and care for each other, support and help each other and contribute to the development of the host country, many people are successful, hold important positions or dominate scientific fields.

The General Secretary also highly appreciated the activities of the Embassy and representative agencies of Vietnam in Finland and the Nordic countries. Despite the small number of staff, the agency always fulfills its tasks well, promptly strengthens solidarity, international integration, Vietnam's responsibility, and cares for the Vietnamese community.
