On December 16th, the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam issued an official statement to the press regarding safety when traveling to South Korea.

Accordingly, the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam stated in a document that, due to the establishment and lifting of martial law in South Korea on the night of December 3rd and the early morning of December 4th, some countries and foreign tourists have expressed concerns about safety when traveling to South Korea.

Regarding the above issue, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) representative office in Vietnam has officially updated information on the situation in South Korea. Specifically, on December 4, 2024, the South Korean government sent a diplomatic note to the embassies of various countries in South Korea informing them that the state of martial law had been lifted through democratic procedures and that daily life in South Korea had returned to normal, with no impact on tourism or economic activities. Therefore, travel restrictions are unnecessary.

Currently, all tourist destinations in South Korea are operating normally under government management and support, and all tourism activities for both Korean citizens and foreign visitors are proceeding safely and smoothly.
