Agribank General Director Pham Toan Vuong was elected Chairman of the Banking Association for the 7th term.

On February 24, the Council of the Vietnam Banks Association issued Resolution No. 68/NQ-HDHH on the election of a representative of the organization to serve as Chairman of the Vietnam Banks Association for the 7th term (2020 - 2025). Accordingly, Mr. Pham Toan Vuong, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of Agribank was elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Banks Association for the 7th term.

In the Resolution, the Association Council resolved to no longer assign Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Vice Chairman and General Secretary, to perform the duties of Chairman of the Council of the Vietnam Banking Association for the 7th term (2020 - 2025). At the same time, Mr. Pham Toan Vuong - Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of Agribank , representing Agribank to perform the duties of Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Association for the 7th term (2020 - 2025).

The Association Council assigns the Standing Agency to be responsible for preparing documents and procedures for reporting to competent State management agencies to ensure compliance with current legal regulations and the Charter (Amended and Supplemented) of the Vietnam Banking Association.

Previously, on January 9, 2025, the Council of the Vietnam Banking Association held the 6th Session, term VII, to agree on the direction of operations in 2025. At the session, the members of the Association Council unanimously approved the dismissal of Mr. Pham Duc An from the position of Chairman of the Council of the Vietnam Banking Association, after Mr. Pham Duc An resigned from the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Agribank and took on a new assignment - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province.

At the same time, through the proposal of the Standing Committee of the Association Council to assign 1 Vice President to perform the task of managing the activities of the Vietnam Banking Association while waiting to elect a representative to perform the duties of Chairman of the Council of the Vietnam Banking Association for the 7th term (2020 - 2025).

Specifically, the Standing Committee of the Association proposed and approved the personnel of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Standing Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Banking Association to temporarily hold the role and perform the tasks of the Chairman of the Association Council. During the time of temporarily holding the role and performing the tasks of the Chairman of the Association Council, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung excellently completed all assigned tasks.
