According to the 2025 entrance exam cutoff scores for 10th grade announced by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, out of 115 non-specialized public high schools, 12 schools have cutoff scores of 23.75 or higher, meaning candidates must achieve an average of 7.92 points or higher in each subject to pass.

This year, Kim Lien High School and Le Quy Don High School in Ha Dong have the highest entrance exam scores for 10th grade in Hanoi, at 25.5 points. With the admission score calculated as the sum of three subjects, all weighted at 1, candidates need to achieve an average of 8.5 points per subject to be admitted to these schools.

Second place went to Phan Dinh Phung High School and Viet Duc High School with 25.25 points. Yen Hoa High School and Nguyen Gia Thieu High School followed closely behind with a cutoff score of 25.

The top 12 public high schools with the highest entrance exam scores for 10th grade in Hanoi this year are mainly concentrated in Zone 3 (Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, and Cau Giay districts). Schools in these zones account for the overwhelming majority, with 5 out of 12 schools: Kim Lien High School, Yen Hoa High School, Nhan Chinh High School, Cau Giay High School, and Le Quy Don High School - Dong Da. Zone 2 (Hai Ba Trung and Hoan Kiem districts) also has 3 schools in the top scores: Viet Duc High School, Thang Long High School, and Tran Phu High School - Hoan Kiem.

Each admissions area, such as Area 1 (Ba Dinh and Tay Ho districts), Area 5 (Gia Lam and Long Bien districts), Area 7 (Bac Tu Liem, Dan Phuong, Hoai Duc, and Nam Tu Liem districts), and Area 10 (Ha Dong, Chuong My, and Thanh Oai districts), has one school among the top-scoring universities. However, the differentiation is evident in other admissions areas like Areas 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, and 12, where no schools are included in this top list.

Even with an average score of over 8 points per subject, students still fail to get into public schools.

According to Hanoi's admission scoring system, candidates admitted to Kim Lien High School and Le Quy Don High School in Ha Dong must achieve an average of 8.5 points per subject. To be admitted to Phan Dinh Phung High School and Viet Duc High School, candidates must have an average score of 8.42 per subject.

Therefore, this year, without priority points, even with excellent scores of 8 points per subject, candidates will still fail to get into high schools with cut-off scores above 24.75 such as Kim Lien High School, Le Quy Don High School - Ha Dong, Phan Dinh Phung High School, Viet Duc High School, Yen Hoa High School, Nguyen Gia Thieu High School, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, and Thang Long High School.
