According to the investigation, Lo Kok hired someone else to establish Khang Minh Furniture Production and Trading Company Limited, taking advantage of the electronic customs declaration mechanism to import 3 containers of goods from China through Cat Lai port in early September 2025. Although the actual value of the goods was up to billions of VND, the group declared low values, under-declared quantities, and falsified documents to reduce taxes, causing losses to the State budget.

The police force deployed many reconnaissance teams, searched containers, warehouses in Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh and the company headquarters, seized all smuggled goods and many related documents and data.

On September 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department initiated a criminal case, prosecuted and temporarily detained five suspects: Lo Kok, Trinh Thi Kim Ngoc (born 1982), Le Duc Phuoc (born 1975), Le Thi Ngoc Thuy (born 1994) and Pham Ngoc Hao (born 1985) to investigate the crime of "Smuggling" under Article 188 of the Penal Code.

The case is currently under further investigation.
