On the afternoon of November 27, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Provincial Police announced that they had just executed an emergency search warrant and temporarily detained Bui Nguyen Thai Ngoc (31 years old) and Nguyen Hong Vuong (28 years old, both residing in Minh Long District, Quang Ngai Province) for investigation into the crime of trafficking persons under 16 years of age.
Earlier, on the evening of November 25th, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Provincial Police, in coordination with the Nghia Hanh District Police ( Quang Ngai ), rescued VTH (14 years old, residing in Tien Phuoc District, Quang Nam) while she was being forced by Vuong to serve customers at a karaoke establishment in Hanh Minh commune (Nghia Hanh District).

During questioning, the suspects confessed that H. had previously worked in karaoke establishments in Huong An town (Que Son district, Quang Nam province) managed by Bui Nguyen Thai Ngoc. After discussions and agreements, Vuong and Ngoc agreed to buy and sell H. for 38 million VND.
According to the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Provincial Police, during the course of the investigation, H. was frequently beaten, threatened, and forced to serve customers at the karaoke establishment.
Police in Quang Nam province searched the residence of Bui Nguyen Thai Ngoc.
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Quang Nam Provincial Police also determined that in April, Bui Nguyen Thai Ngoc transferred a female employee from Quang Ngai province to Vuong for 20 million VND.
During a search of the suspects' residences, authorities seized 5 mobile phones, 1 laptop, 1 camera recorder, 3 national identity cards, 1 bank card, and several related items and documents.
The case of trafficking in persons under 16 years of age is being further investigated by the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Provincial Police.
