Flash floods have buried the entire Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune (Bao Yen district), where 37 households and 158 people live. By 5:00 p.m. yesterday, when the rescue team was ordered to withdraw due to continuing landslides, 34 people had been found dead, with 61 victims still missing.

Lao Cai Province and Military Region 2 mobilized nearly 800 people to the scene to search. The Army, Police, militia, and local people cordoned off the area and divided into shifts to search for the missing victims.
Thanh Nien reporters were present at the scene of Lang Nu village yesterday, September 11, to give gifts to support the local people. Many relatives of the victims also came to the scene to search for their loved ones. The deceased were found and supported by the local authorities for burial. Those who were safe after the Lang Nu flash flood were arranged temporary accommodation.

While the rescue in Lang Nu is still ongoing, Lao Cai province has confirmed another landslide in many communes in Bac Ha district.
The serious landslide occurred at 1:40 p.m. on September 10 in Ban Cai hamlet, Nam Tong village, Nam Luc commune. At that time, a large amount of rock and soil from the hill collapsed, burying 8 houses with 27 people.
There are 15 households with 80 people living in this village. The landslide completely buried 8 houses, leaving 5 people dead, 13 missing and 11 injured. Accessing the scene was very difficult, it took nearly 4 hours going up the Chay River from Bao Nhai District for the working group to reach the village.
By 5:30 p.m. on September 11, the Bac Ha District Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Committee had removed 11 injured people from the scene and taken them to the emergency room. According to statistics, 7 people died, and 11 people are still missing.
Currently, the work of overcoming the consequences and searching for missing people is being urgently deployed, but is expected to be very difficult because this area is at risk of further landslides.
As of the end of September 11, storm No. 3 in Lao Cai killed 72 people; 111 people were missing and 70 people were injured.
