Attending the event were Comrade Duong Mah Tiep - Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee; Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Van - Commander of the Mobile Police Force; Major General Le Quang Nhan - Director of the Provincial Police; and former leaders, officers, and soldiers of the Regiment.
Fifteen years ago, to meet the demands of the new situation, the Minister of Public Security issued Decision No. 2200, stipulating the functions, duties, and powers of the Riot Police Regiment (Ministry of Public Security) stationed in Binh Dinh province (now Gia Lai province).
Over 15 years of building, fighting, and maturing, under the comprehensive leadership and guidance of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Party Committee and leadership of the Mobile Police Command, generations of officers and soldiers of the South Central Mobile Police Regiment have overcome difficulties and challenges, bravely performed their duties and fought, achieving many outstanding accomplishments and victories, making important contributions to the cause of protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety, and protecting the Party, the State, and the people.
In addition, emphasis is placed on force building and political and ideological education, contributing to building a united and cohesive unit; officers and soldiers possess strong political resolve and are ready to accept and successfully complete assigned tasks.
On this occasion, the Southern Central Region Riot Police Regiment was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the Prime Minister. Many collectives and individuals belonging to the Regiment received Certificates of Commendation from the Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in work and combat.
