On the evening of August 20th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the results of a meeting between the department and the American International School (Nha Be District) regarding preparations for the new school year.
Accordingly, after hearing the report from the American International Primary, Secondary, and High School on the implementation of measures to ensure the resumption of activities and the transfer of students to ensure their right to education in the 2024-2025 school year, and also listening to the opinions of specialized departments under the Department of Education and Training, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training Nguyen Bao Quoc concluded that the American International Primary, Secondary, and High School is not allowed to conduct surveys to determine whether students will continue studying at the school.
Furthermore, during the suspension period, the school is prohibited from organizing any educational activities as per regulations.
The American International Primary, Secondary, and High School is responsible for informing parents about school transfers and guiding them through the transfer procedures.
The school assigns a person in charge of signing transfer documents and requires this to be done before the start of the new school year to avoid affecting students' enrollment time, while also complying with current regulations.
If any violations of the law occur, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will take measures to ensure that the school complies with the regulations.
Once the institution submits complete documentation and sufficient evidence to ensure it meets the conditions for resuming operations, the Department of Education and Training will consider the request for permission to resume educational activities.
Currently, the school does not meet the necessary conditions for conducting educational activities.
Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc also requested that specialized departments review the data on students transferring schools, coordinate with the Departments of Education and Training and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City to create favorable conditions for students of the American International Primary, Secondary and High School who wish to transfer schools, ensuring that students are enrolled on schedule for the 2024-2025 school year.
Simultaneously, the department will continue to monitor and review the supporting documents of the American International Primary, Secondary, and High School if the school submits them in the near future; proactively coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to understand the school's budgetary obligations, thereby considering the school's resumption of educational activities.
