From August 29th to September 1st, the "ASEAN Colors" Friendship Cultural Festival will be held at Thang Long Imperial Citadel ( Hanoi ). The program is organized by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations in collaboration with the Lao Embassy (the ASEAN Chair in 2024) and other ASEAN member states in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the "ASEAN Colors" Friendship Cultural Festival is an international cultural exchange activity and a people-to-people diplomatic activity of Hanoi, practically commemorating the 57th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN, the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi, and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being honored by UNESCO as a "City for Peace ," aiming to strengthen friendship between the people of Vietnam and the people of ASEAN member countries.

The "ASEAN Colors" festival will open up a rich cultural space, leading participants on a journey to discover the distinctive cultures of countries such as Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and many others. Through artistic activities, exhibitions, and cultural exchanges, as well as culinary experiences, the event promises to offer unique experiences, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of the identity, traditions, and people of ASEAN nations.

The program was attended by representatives from various departments and agencies, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam-ASEAN Friendship Associations at the central level, along with leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee; several departments, agencies, and socio-political organizations; Ambassadors, their spouses, and staff from ASEAN embassies; representatives from several other embassies in Vietnam; and ASEAN students studying in Hanoi.

Within the framework of the festival, there will be many games such as painting, building with Lego, stacking wooden blocks, making clay figurines, papier-mâché masks, bamboo dragonflies, and making kites for families and children to experience and relive their childhood through traditional folk games.

In addition, the festival also includes other activities such as: amateur art exchanges by embassy staff and foreign students; performances of ASEAN country costumes; performances of the contemporary musical Pinocchio 2024; children's music and dance festival and children's fashion show; and a drawing competition "I love Hanoi - a city for peace".

The opening ceremony of the "ASEAN Colors" Friendship Cultural Festival will take place at 7:30 PM on August 30, 2024, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, with the participation of famous singers and artists. This program is an important diplomatic event aimed at promoting and strengthening friendship between the people of Vietnam and ASEAN countries, as well as international friends, to spread the spirit of solidarity and love for peace, and to inspire the aspiration to build Hanoi into a "Cultural - Civilized - Modern" city.
