'Pride of Vietnam Air Force' wins gold medal at 2025 Outstanding Photography Award

The work "Pride of the Vietnamese Air Force" by Major General and photographer Vu Ngoc Hoang and the photo series "Metro Entering a New Era" by author Tran Le Huy won the gold medal at the 2025 Outstanding Photography Award.

On the afternoon of December 5, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists celebrated its 60th anniversary and presented the 2025 Outstanding Photography Award.

Photographer Tran Thi Thu Dong - Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations , President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists - reviewed the glorious history of the association.

On December 8, 1965, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists was established in Hanoi. From 71 initial members, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists now has more than 1,000 members.

Photo series Metro Enters a New Era by author Tran Le Huy wins gold medal

Generations of members have actively followed the lives and struggles for national liberation, national unification, and the construction and protection of the Fatherland today, recording heroic and vivid images with creative and unique perspectives, contributing to preserving history and at the same time developing the art of Vietnamese photography.

Many authors have achieved outstanding results, winning high awards domestically and internationally. The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists is growing, actively encouraging and supporting its members' creativity.

Regarding future orientation, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Dong emphasized: The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists is determined to improve the quality of works, promote digital transformation and take care of and nurture the young generation.

At the ceremony, the association awarded the authors of the 2025 Outstanding Photography Award.

This year, there were 20 best award-winning photos, including 2 gold medals for the work "Pride of the Vietnamese Air Force" by Major General and photographer Vu Ngoc Hoang and the photo series "Metro Entering a New Era" by author Tran Le Huy.

The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists awarded the "For the cause of developing Vietnamese photography art" medal to 9 individuals and conferred photography titles.

On the same morning, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists also held an award ceremony and opened the exhibition of the 13th International Art Photography Competition in 2025 in Vietnam.

Accordingly, 664 excellent works by 383 authors from 22 countries and territories were selected for the exhibition, 47 works were awarded according to the award system of VAPA and FIAP.

Author Marcel Van Balken (Netherlands) won the FIAP Blue Ribbon, is the winner of the most awards with 10 works winning awards and being exhibited.
