On the afternoon of December 7, the U22 Vietnam team had a training session at RBAC University Stadium (Bangkok) to prepare for the match against U22 Malaysia in the final round of Group B of the 33rd SEA Games men's football on December 11.
Watching live U22 Malaysia beat U22 Laos 4-1 on December 6 helped coach Kim Sang Sik and his team have a more specific view of their opponent's playing style and strength.
Not rushing to conduct a video analysis meeting of U22 Malaysia, Mr. Kim let his students practice attacking tactics and finishing skills which still revealed many limitations in the opening match, a hard-fought 2-1 victory over U22 Laos.
The Korean coach has given the U22 Vietnam team a lot of practice in passing the ball and dividing the team into small formations to further improve.
At the same time, Mr. Kim also took the opportunity to observe and test the positions that were not yet secure in the midfield and the attacking trio. The strikers who have not played in the 33rd SEA Games such as Viktor Le and Ngoc My have all shown their determination to be able to play in the next match.
Despite having the same 3 points as U22 Malaysia, the U22 Vietnam team only ranked 2nd in Group B due to a lower goal difference. Therefore, coach Kim Sang Sik's team had to beat their opponent to ensure they entered the semi-finals as group winners.

U22 received encouragement from the head of the Vietnamese sports delegation
After arriving in Bangkok (Thailand) with the Vietnamese sports delegation at noon on December 7, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department and Head of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games Nguyen Hong Minh went to the training ground of the U22 Vietnam team in the afternoon of the same day to visit and encourage the whole team.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh wished Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team good luck and victory at SEA Games 33.
