This morning, September 5th, amidst the back-to-school atmosphere of tens of millions of students nationwide, teachers and students of Xa Dan Primary School ( Hanoi ) held the opening ceremony for the new school year 2025-2026.

As a school located right in the heart of Hanoi, offering specialized classes in culture and life skills education for hearing-impaired students, its opening ceremony was unique compared to other schools.
Xã Đàn Secondary School is one of the few specialized schools in Hanoi that accepts students with disabilities.
Mr. Pham Van Hoan, Principal of Xa Dan Primary and Secondary School, said that most of the students attending the school are hearing impaired, or are deaf and mute from birth, or unable to hear or speak normally due to some illness, and the teachers communicate with the students mostly through sign language.

Xã Đàn Primary and Secondary School has students from grades 1 to 9. In the 2025-2026 school year, the school will welcome 70 new students, bringing the total number of students to 361, of which 65% are hearing-impaired students and 35% are hearing-impaired students.

Currently, the school provides education for both hearing-impaired and hearing-impaired students. This mixed system allows hearing-impaired students to receive better care and attention from their peers, helping them integrate more effectively. Meanwhile, hearing-impaired students can also assist hearing-impaired students, fostering compassion and tolerance in them.

According to Mr. Hoan, today is a great day of joy for the entire staff, teachers, and beloved students of the school. Upon receiving news from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training about organizing this year's opening ceremony in a new format – online connection from the central location at the My Dinh National Convention Center – the school has prepared very carefully to have a historic opening ceremony, ensuring that the children "have the most complete and memorable opening ceremony possible."

"We divided the school into 10 viewing points, including one in the assembly hall for invited guests, teachers who are not homeroom teachers, outstanding students, and parent representatives to watch the online opening ceremony nationwide from 8:00 to 9:30. Afterwards, the school will hold its own opening ceremony," Mr. Hoan shared.
