By the end of 2022, the Central Committee
of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMC CTU) had trained 1,147 cadres at all levels of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union (Lao Revolutionary Youth Union). These trainees have become a bridge to further strengthen the traditional friendship between the two youth organizations in particular and between the Lao and Vietnamese peoples in general.

"The lessons and experiences shared in this training course will be implemented as models and applied to youth work in each field to achieve the highest effectiveness for the
Lao Youth Union and youth movement. We will bring these lessons and experiences to spread to youth union members in our unit's Youth Union organization so that they clearly understand the solidarity, friendship, and close ties between the two countries' Youth Union organizations," - this was the sharing of Sengchanh Onnidar, Head of the
Economic and Planning Department of the Central Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, regarding the 27th Training Course for Key Youth Union Officials of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union in 2022. As one of the 50 trainees participating in the 27th Training Course for Key Youth Union Officials of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, Ms. Sengchanh Onnidar said that she and the trainees were not only given every convenience in providing information and lessons but also received thoughtful care regarding accommodation, food, and daily life. "Living at the academy feels like being at home. Even though we speak different languages, there's understanding, love, and closeness like a family," shared Senchanh Onnidar.

According to the Central Committee
of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , during the period 2019-2022, 260 key Youth Union officials from district, provincial/city levels, and key Youth Union officials from central ministries and agencies of Laos participated in training courses under the Project. During these courses, participants shared and exchanged ideas on many topics contributing to improving their theoretical knowledge, methods, and skills in youth work: the socio-economic development guidelines of
the Communist Party of Vietnam ; an overview of the political system in Vietnam; Ho Chi Minh's thought on education and training of the younger generation and the Communist Party of Vietnam's views on youth; and the organizational work of building the Youth Union and its inspection and supervision. In addition, participants gained a better understanding of Vietnam, its people, Vietnamese youth organizations, and the friendly cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Laos in 2022. Participate in extracurricular activities, visit economic development youth models, creative startup space models, visit some famous landscapes in Vietnam. By the end of 2022, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has organized 28 long-term and short-term training courses for 1,147 cadres at all levels of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union.
Expanding areas of cooperation
Through these training courses, the trainees, who are core youth union officials, gain a deeper understanding of the great tradition of friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, becoming a bridge to further strengthen the traditional friendship between the two youth organizations in particular and between the Lao and Vietnamese peoples in general. The officials trained in Vietnam have all performed well in their roles upon returning to their home countries, receiving high praise from the Party, State, and the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union; many have matured and been transferred to higher positions in Party and State agencies and other agencies within the Lao
political system.

During a meeting with the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, Monexay Laomoaxong, on October 9, 2023, in Vientiane, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Bui Quang Huy, stated that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is developing a training and development program on youth work for cadres of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union for the period 2023-2027. The Union will continue to invite Lao cadres to study, research, and exchange experiences. The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is also promoting the establishment of a Lao-Vietnamese Youth Training and Development Center in Vientiane. "In the coming time, the youth unions of the two countries need to consider expanding areas of cooperation, aiming for more diverse cooperation in terms of subjects and fields, such as young doctors and medical professionals, young artists, young journalists, young
diplomats , young scientists...; creative entrepreneurship activities, digital technology, exchange of models on digital transformation, sustainable development, and international integration skills," said Mr. Bui Quang Huy. The leaders of the youth unions of the two countries also agreed to continue to effectively implement the contents of the Cooperation Agreement between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union for the period 2022-2027. This includes continuing to strengthen propaganda activities and raise awareness among young people of both countries about the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos. This is an important task that needs to be carried out regularly and continuously so that youth union members of both countries always remember the history and the special traditional friendship between the two countries.
