The Vietnam National Tourism Administration announced that at the World Travel Awards 2024, Vietnam is honored to be nominated in several important categories at the national level, including: Asia's Leading Beach Destination; Asia's Leading Cultural Destination; Asia's Leading Destination; Asia's Leading Heritage Destination; Asia's Leading Nature Destination; and Asia's Leading Destination for Young People. At the local level, Ho Chi Minh City is nominated in the category of Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination; Hanoi is nominated in two categories: Asia's Leading City Holiday Destination and Asia's Leading City Destination.

Hoi An and Hue were nominated as Asia's leading cultural city destinations. Ha Giang and Ha Nam were nominated in the category of Asia's leading emerging tourist destinations. Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City were nominated in the category of Asia's leading festival and events destinations. Phu Quoc was nominated for Asia's leading luxury island destination. Moc Chau was nominated for Asia's leading local nature destination.
