Honoring 24 works winning the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Award

The Ministry of Science and Technology has approved and awarded the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards to 24 journalistic works, including 4 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes.

On the afternoon of October 24 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology held the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards Ceremony.

The award is not only an occasion to honor outstanding journalistic works, but also an opportunity to look back on the past journey, affirming the great values ​​of journalism in the cause of national development, especially in the context of science , technology, innovation and digital transformation becoming strategic pillars for a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

Held since 2012, the Award has received the active response and participation of central and local press agencies with more than 8,000 works and groups of works in 5 types of journalism. The Organizing Committee has selected 271 excellent works/groups of works by authors/groups of authors to award the Award.

Continuing the success of previous years, the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Award continues to receive the participation of most central and local press agencies. In 2024, the Organizing Committee received nearly 200 works/groups of works from authors and groups of authors.

According to the evaluation of the Voting Council, in general, the works have comprehensively reflected all aspects of science and technology activities, innovation and digital transformation, addressing urgent, popular and practical issues of economic and social life. Many works are of good quality, with topical topics, promptly reflecting the results of activities of the Science and Technology sector...

The Ministry of Science and Technology has approved and awarded the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards to 24 journalistic works. There are 4 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes. The authors/author groups winning the first prize will receive the Cup, Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Science and Technology and prizes; The authors/author groups winning the second, third and consolation prizes will receive the Certificate, the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards Cup and prizes.

Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong said that in recent times, there have been many events, activities, and outstanding achievements in the science and technology sector. In all of these events and activities, the role of the press has been clearly demonstrated, contributing to the success of the events, creating a strong communication and spreading effect, providing complete and truthful information, knowledge, and outstanding results and achievements of the science and technology sector to the public at home and abroad.

"Today's Press Awards ceremony is a timely recognition and encouragement from the science and technology sector for authors and groups of authors with excellent press works," emphasized the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.

According to Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong, in the coming period, we need to form a stronger, more modern, and more creative science and technology journalism community. The press also needs to pioneer in grasping new technologies, applying artificial intelligence, big data, data journalism, and multi-platform journalism to reach the public faster, wider, and more attractively.

"Science and technology journalism not only reflects achievements but also criticizes, contributes to policies, and raises big questions for the whole society to find answers. The Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to create favorable conditions for press agencies, from supporting research, technology application, digital transformation, to providing official scientific data sources; strengthen coordination so that science and technology journalism truly becomes a core force in national science and technology communication," said Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong./.
