The People's Committee of Long Khanh City ( Dong Nai province ) announced that, regarding the food poisoning incident after eating bread in Long Khanh City which resulted in 568 people being hospitalized for examination and treatment, the People's Committee of Long Khanh City has transferred the case file to the police investigation agency for verification and clarification.

Doctors at Long Khánh Regional General Hospital are actively treating patients admitted suspected of food poisoning after eating bread.
According to the People's Committee of Long Khanh City, the total number of people hospitalized for examination and treatment related to the suspected food poisoning incident at B. bread shop (Xuan Binh ward, Long Khanh city) is 568 cases, of which 300 are currently being treated, 11 have been transferred to other hospitals, 138 have been discharged, and 119 have been given prescriptions.
Upon receiving the information, the People's Committee of Long Khanh City directed relevant agencies to investigate and clarify the matter. During the inspection, it was found that the bread shop, which served approximately 1,000 loaves per day, operated without a business license at the aforementioned address and lacked a food safety certificate. Furthermore, four employees working there did not possess certificates confirming food safety training or health certificates.
However, according to regulations, it is necessary to wait for the test results from the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Public Health to prove the act of "selling food that caused food poisoning" by the business owner. Mr. Tang Quoc Lap, Vice Chairman of the Long Khanh City People's Committee, said that among the more than 560 cases of food poisoning, there were very serious cases involving children. This incident has particularly serious consequences in the area; therefore, based on the provisions of the Criminal Code and the Law on Handling Administrative Violations, the Long Khanh City People's Committee has transferred the initial verification files regarding the aforementioned business to the Long Khanh City Police Investigation Agency for further investigation in accordance with the law.
Previously, as reported by VNA reporters, from the evening of May 1st, Long Khanh Regional General Hospital (Dong Nai province) began receiving and treating many victims suspected of food poisoning after eating bread at B. bread shop (Xuan Binh ward, Long Khanh city).
The Long Khánh City Health Center and Health Department conducted an inspection; requested the establishment to temporarily cease business until the authorities reach a conclusion, and are cooperating in investigating the cause of the incident.
