At the reception, General Secretary andPresident To Lam highly appreciated the role of the WB in promoting poverty reduction and addressing global challenges.

In the context of a world undergoing profound transformation, the General Secretary and President welcomed the WB's strategic vision of "Building a world without poverty on a livable planet", with the correct identification of important priorities for humanity, as the foundation for opening new development cooperation programs focusing on sustainable development and green transformation.

The General Secretary proposed that the WB continue to support resources for Vietnam to implement potential, key, and breakthrough projects, associated with the tasks of renewing the growth model, restructuring the economy, converting energy, responding to climate change, and improving the economy's resilience to fluctuations, risks, and unpredictable changes in the international environment.

In the coming time, the WB President proposed that the two sides continue to promote cooperation to complete the infrastructure system of waterway, road and railway transport, especially in the Mekong region; accelerate the process of sustainable energy transition and replicate and spread Vietnam's success in low-emission rice cultivation.

Agreeing with the proposals of General Secretary and President To Lam, the WB President affirmed that he will prioritize allocating large capital sources to Vietnam, focusing on key projects in priority areas proposed by the General Secretary and President.

The WB President hopes to soon return to visit Vietnam to further promote bilateral cooperation, for the development of Vietnam in particular and the Asian region in general.
