On the morning of October 6th, leaders of Thang An commune inspected the damage caused by the sudden whirlwind that occurred in the commune on the afternoon of October 5th.

According to reports, at Nguyen Thai Binh High School (Tra Doa 2, Thang An commune), the whirlwind completely destroyed the roofs of two classrooms, damaging many pieces of equipment such as televisions, desks, chairs, and teaching aids. The thunderstorm and whirlwind also knocked down many trees around the school grounds.

According to Mr. Tran Tu Trong, Principal of Nguyen Thai Binh High School, the whirlwind occurred on Sunday afternoon (October 5th) and lasted for about 15 minutes. There were no students at the school at the time, so there were no casualties.

Following the storm, to ensure safety, the school erected barricades, posted warning signs, and urgently mobilized teachers to coordinate with local forces, the parent association, and residents to repair minor damage. Simultaneously, they compiled a report on the damage to the City Department of Education and Training and the local authorities so that they could provide support and assistance to help the school stabilize teaching and learning activities in the coming period.

Earlier, at around 3:30 PM on October 5th, a sudden whirlwind swept through Thang An commune, mainly affecting the areas of Binh Minh, Binh Dao, and Binh Trieu (formerly) communes. The whirlwind ripped off the roofs of many houses, public buildings, and schools, knocked down many trees, and disrupted traffic.

Following the natural disaster, local authorities and on-site forces promptly provided support and assistance to mitigate damage and ensure smooth traffic flow. They also carried out quick repairs to houses with damaged roofs, helping people stabilize their lives.

Mr. Le Huy Trac, Head of the Economic Department of Thang An commune, said that the sudden whirlwind caused significant damage to houses, trees, public works, etc., but fortunately there were no casualties. The local authorities are focusing on recovery efforts and compiling a report on the extent of the damage.
