Chu Van An ward suffered over 1.2 billion VND in damage due to rain and storms.

The remnants of Typhoon No. 11 caused heavy rain and strong winds in Chu Van An ward (Hai Phong city), resulting in damage exceeding 1.2 billion VND.

The sudden rain and strong winds in the early morning of October 7th caused several buildings to collapse.

Although the dikes, embankments, culverts, and drainage pumping stations in Chu Van An ward remained operational, the sudden whirlwind at 4:00 AM on October 7th caused significant damage to houses and infrastructure.

According to a preliminary survey by the People's Committee of the ward, 18 households in the entire ward suffered damage to their homes, with Tuong residential area accounting for 17 of them.

Many houses had their roofs blown off, with rainwater pouring inside; two chicken farms collapsed. The total estimated damage to residential areas and households is approximately 703 million VND.

Five schools and the former police station were flooded, had their roofs blown off, and suffered extensive damage, with estimated losses of approximately 525 million VND. Several trees in the school grounds were uprooted or broken.

The total damage caused by the remnants of Typhoon No. 11 in Chu Van An ward is over 1.2 billion VND.

The People's Committee of the ward has established two working groups to inspect and compile statistics, and at the same time directed the Tuong and Trai Sen residential groups to mobilize local forces to support people in overcoming the consequences and temporarily repairing houses to ensure safety. Affected schools were also requested to urgently rectify the situation to quickly stabilize teaching and learning.

Chu Van An Ward will continue to maintain a duty roster, regularly monitor weather developments, inspect the irrigation system, and prepare response plans for emergencies.
