Gold prices this afternoon, January 15, 2025: The domestic gold market is witnessing multi-directional fluctuations with varying upward and downward trends among major gold brands.

At the time of the survey at 13:00 on January 15, 2025, the gold prices on the exchanges of several companies were listed as follows:
Gold trading companies such as Bao Tin Minh Chau, PNJ, SJC, and DOJI have all maintained the same price for SJC gold. Gold prices are at 84.4-86.4 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price) compared to the same time yesterday morning.
Mi Hong Company, in particular, increased the buying price by 200,000 VND per tael but kept the selling price unchanged, currently listed at 84.7 - 85.7 million VND/tael.
Meanwhile, the price of plain gold rings saw mixed adjustments among gold trading businesses. Specifically, Bao Tin Minh Chau increased the price by 50,000 VND per tael for both buying and selling, raising the price of gold rings to 84.85 - 86.35 million VND/tael.
DOJI Group has once again reduced the price of gold by 100,000 VND per tael in both buying and selling prices, down to 84.4 - 85.2 million VND/tael.
Mi Hong, in particular, adjusted the price of plain gold rings by an additional 400,000 VND per tael for buying and 100,000 VND per tael for selling, currently listed at 84.8 - 85.8 million VND/tael.

On the global gold market, the spot gold price closed yesterday in the US up $14.3 to $2,677.5 per ounce. In the Asian trading session this morning, the price reversed course and fell $6 to $2,671.5 per ounce.
Gold futures for February 2025 delivery on the Comex New York exchange rose slightly by $3.7, or 0.14%, to $2,682.3 per ounce.
Gold reversed course and edged higher after US inflation data came in lower than expected. Specifically, the December Producer Price Index (PPI) fell short of expectations, rising 0.2% from the previous month, compared to expectations of a 0.4% increase. Core PPI (excluding food and energy) also fell short of forecasts, remaining unchanged from the previous month, compared to expectations of a 0.3% increase.
In addition, the decline in the USD index after reaching its highest level in over two years has also supported the recovery of the gold market.
According to expert Chris Mancini from Gabelli Gold Fund, gold prices in 2025 will be heavily influenced by inflation and the labor market in the United States. If inflation remains high and the labor market weakens, the Fed is likely to cut interest rates, thereby boosting gold prices. Investors need to closely monitor these macroeconomic factors to make timely decisions.
Meanwhile, Tim Waterer, chief market analyst at financial services firm KCM Trade, noted that the rise in gold prices may stem from investors' concerns about inflation, making gold a safe-haven asset amid rising inflation.
