Presiding over and giving a keynote address at the trade promotion meeting with the system of Vietnamese trade offices abroad in August, held on the morning of September 9th in Hanoi, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien stated that the economic growth target for 2025 is set at 8.3-8.5%, creating a foundation to strive for double-digit growth from 2026 onwards. In the context of a volatile global economy, disrupted supply chains, and increasing protectionist policies, the pressure on the industry and trade sector is immense.
"Therefore, today's conference is of particular importance. We will exchange and discuss to find practical solutions to achieve the goals assigned by the Party and the State."
"In the context of implementing new tariff policies by the US and many other countries, the responsibilities are becoming increasingly heavy. With only over three months left until the end of the year, the entire sector must strive to ensure that each work target meets and exceeds the national average," Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said.
Pointing out the opportunities and challenges from the markets, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that the domestic market is gradually reaching its limits, with little room for growth remaining. Therefore, exports must be considered a key priority, not only to familiar markets but also to explore potential and new markets.
This conference focuses on diversifying export markets and products, and diversifying import sources to boost import and export turnover growth in 2025.
At the event, representatives from trade agencies, businesses, and associations will present the difficulties and challenges in export activities, and scenarios for import and export turnover growth in the remaining months of 2025. They will also propose solutions to diversify export markets and products, and diversify import supply sources to boost import and export turnover growth in 2025-2026.
