The US is Vietnam's largest export market for pepper. Previously, even without a comprehensive free trade agreement (FTA), Vietnam's household spice products still enjoyed a 0% tariff thanks to MFN (Most Favored Nation) preferential treatment upon joining the WTO.
Following the US announcement of retaliatory tariffs on Vietnamese goods in August 2025, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order exempting agricultural products that the country cannot produce on a large scale, including spices, from tariffs. This allows the Vietnamese pepper industry to continue benefiting from stable demand and tariff preferences, opening up opportunities for significant growth.
Currently, pepper businesses are actively pushing for orders in the fourth quarter of 2025, and the results are very promising. The combination of product quality and supportive government policies has created favorable conditions for the development of Vietnam's pepper industry in the international market.
Therefore, the price of pepper in Vietnam today, December 14, 2025, is trading around 148,500 - 150,000 VND/kg.
