Due to the influence of storm No. 3 (Storm Yagi), from the night of September 7 to September 9, Cao Bang province experienced moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain over a wide area, causing flooding and landslides in many localities in the province.

The rising flood water level of Bang and Gam rivers has caused flooding in wards and communes of Cao Bang city, Bao Lac town (Bao Lac district) and Pac Miau town (Bao Lam district); Tam Kim, Vu Minh, The Duc communes, Nguyen Binh town (Nguyen Binh district).
According to statistics, the whole province had 1 person died due to landslide, Trieu Chi C. (4 years old) residing in Lung Noi hamlet, Vu Nong commune, Nguyen Binh district; 20 people were missing (identity not yet determined), including: 11 people in Lung Sung hamlet, Yen Lac commune; 9 people in Lung Ly hamlet, Ca Thanh commune (Nguyen Binh district).
The floods damaged 391 houses (of which 12 houses completely collapsed, 11 houses were affected by landslides); 326 houses were flooded (308 houses in Cao Bang city; 13 houses in Nguyen Binh district; 5 houses in Bao Lac district); 42 houses had their roofs blown off. In addition, 93.75 hectares of agricultural land were damaged and affected.
In addition, many roads in the area have been eroded and flooded, causing traffic congestion. Currently, rescue forces have not been able to reach the areas where landslides occurred, burying human casualties because traffic into this area has been eroded in many locations.
Colonel Vu Hong Quang, Director of Phu Tho Provincial Police, told VietNamNet that the provincial police have deployed dozens of officers and soldiers to participate in the rescue in Nguyen Binh district. Access to the scene is very difficult.
