On September 1st, the Department of Performing Arts announced that the first phase of the National Music and Dance Festival will take place from September 7th to 16th at the Vinh Phuc Provincial Art Theater.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned the Department of Performing Arts to preside over and coordinate with the Vietnam Musicians Association, the Vietnam Dancers Association, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Phuc province, the Vinh Phuc Provincial Art Theatre and other relevant agencies and units to organize the Festival.

The first phase of the 2024 National Music and Dance Festival features the participation of nearly 1,000 artists from 13 organizations. These include professional music and dance art units; music and dance art units belonging to the armed forces; and symphony, music, and dance art units, both public and private, nationwide.
Each participating unit is allowed to present one program or performance lasting from 60 to 110 minutes, encompassing various forms of music and dance, including Western art forms such as symphony, musical theater, ballet, oratorio, Broadway, and opera.
The Organizing Committee requires that programs, performances, and plays participating in the Festival have clear themes and content; praise the country and people of Vietnam; not contradict the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; and encourages the creation of programs and works that reflect the cultural identity of ethnic groups, regions, and areas, showcasing the richness and diversity of art.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will award gold and silver medals to outstanding programs, plays, performances, and roles.
The National Professional Music and Dance Festival is an opportunity for cultural management agencies and leaders of art units to discover young talents, and then develop appropriate training and development plans.
This is also a major "playground" for artists and artistic talents to freely create, innovate, and diversify their performance styles, reflecting regional characteristics as well as their personal styles.
The second phase of the 2024 National Music and Dance Festival is scheduled to take place at the end of September 2024, at the Binh Duong Provincial Convention Center.
