Opening of the 2024 National Music, Dance and Singing Festival

On the evening of September 29, at the Binh Duong Provincial Cultural Center, nearly 1,500 artists from 24 art units across the country participated in the opening ceremony of the 2024 National Music and Dance Festival (phase 2).

The festival attracted the participation of nearly 1,500 artists from 24 units nationwide. Among them, there were famous art troupes such as: Sao Bien Folk Music and Dance Theater (Phu Yen), Ha Giang Provincial Art Troupe, Hue Opera and Drama Theater, and Hai Dang Music and Dance Troupe (Khanh Hoa).

Ethnic art troupes such as the Khmer Art Troupe of Soc Trang province and the Khmer Art Troupe of Anh Binh Minh province of Tra Vinh province also brought unique and diverse performances.

Each unit participating in the Festival will perform a program or play with a duration of 60-110 minutes in the following genres: General music and dance, Western art forms (symphony, musical, ballet, vocal drama, Broadway, opera...)

The programs, performances and plays participating in the Festival have themes and content praising the country and people of Vietnam; embodying the cultural identities of ethnic groups, regions and areas, demonstrating the richness and diversity of art.

The regular national song, dance and music festival is the basis for state management agencies from the central to local levels to correctly assess the current state of performing arts activities, thereby orienting the arts, finding solutions to overcome limitations and weaknesses; promoting the development of the performing arts sector to concretize the Party's policies and guidelines on the fields of culture and arts.

This event has practical significance, aiming to preserve, promote and develop the value of traditional folk and ethnic performing arts of Vietnam; create conditions for professional art units, artists and actors to meet, exchange, learn experiences, improve professional qualifications and discover young talents.

This is also an opportunity for Binh Duong province to introduce its unique cultural features and promote the image of Binh Duong land and people. Thereby, strengthening relationships, links, and investment cooperation in many fields, especially further improving production and business efficiency, contributing to promoting the development of the local and regional cultural industry.

The 2024 National Music and Dance Festival (phase 2) takes place from September 29 and ends with the Award Ceremony on October 15.
