According to information from the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Earth Sciences (under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), at 9:29 a.m. on July 16, an earthquake of magnitude 2.6 occurred at the coordinates 14.936 degrees North latitude - 108.283 degrees East longitude, with a focal depth of about 8.1 km. The earthquake occurred in Mang But commune, Quang Ngai province.
Previously, also in Mang But commune, on July 15, at 9:45 p.m., an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred at the coordinates 15.004 degrees North latitude - 108.196 degrees East longitude, with a focal depth of about 8.1km.

Both earthquakes are assessed as having a natural disaster risk level of 0. Currently, the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Earth Sciences is continuing to monitor this earthquake.
