2 new Deputy Prime Ministers and 3 Ministers received appointment decisions

(Dan Tri) - Two Deputy Prime Ministers Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Ho Quoc Dung, along with the Ministers of three Ministries: Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, Agriculture and Environment, received decisions to appoint them to new positions after being approved by the National Assembly.

On the morning of October 25th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presided over the ceremony to announce the Decisions appointing Deputy Prime Ministers Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Ho Quoc Dung, and Ministers of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs , Interior, Agriculture and Environment.

At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh announced and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the President's decisions on personnel appointments.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the newly appointed Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers of various Ministries for the 2021-2026 term. According to him, the newly approved members of the Government are all well-trained officials with deep expertise in their respective fields.

These are also officials with strong political convictions, exemplary conduct, humility, dynamism, creativity, the courage to think, act, and take responsibility for the common good, and a wealth of work experience.

In particular, the new Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra has nearly 40 years of experience. As Minister of the Interior, she made significant contributions to the development of the organizational structure and the training of officials and civil servants, especially during the recent "reorganization of the country" and the operation of the two-tiered local government system. The Prime Minister emphasized that with the approval of Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra's appointment, the Government has, for the first time, a female Deputy Prime Minister.

The new Deputy Prime Minister, Ho Quoc Dung, has 35 years of experience; he was trained and grew up in a land rich in tradition. Before becoming the new Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, he made many important contributions to the socio-economic development and social welfare of Binh Dinh province, making the province a shining example nationwide in digital transformation.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung is a high-ranking Party leader with 43 years of service. He received thorough training and has extensive experience in diplomacy and strategic advisory work for the Central Party Committee.

The new Minister of Home Affairs, Do Thanh Binh, is an official with nearly 40 years of experience, having held many important leadership positions in the former Kien Giang province before becoming the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee in January.

The Prime Minister acknowledged that Minister Do Thanh Binh had made significant contributions to transforming the former Kien Giang province into one of the key economic regions of the Mekong Delta; a province strong in marine economy and tourism development.

Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang has over 30 years of experience, holding various positions at both the central and local levels. Before returning to the central government, as the former Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, he and the provincial leadership team focused on leading and directing Hai Duong to become a high-growth province in the Red River Delta, ranking 11th nationwide in terms of economic size by 2024.

According to the Prime Minister, this term of the Government is extremely special with a very large workload, while there have been many changes in the Government leadership and members, therefore the tasks facing the Government remain extremely challenging.

The Prime Minister emphasized the goal of building a government that is "development-oriented, honest, decisive in action, and serves the people"; prioritizing the promotion of growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, striving for GDP growth of 8.3-8.5% in 2025 and sustainable double-digit growth in the coming years.

The Prime Minister instructed relevant agencies to urgently develop a set of criteria for evaluating officials, based on the concretization of Political Bureau Regulation No. 366 on reviewing, evaluating, and classifying the quality of collectives and individuals in the political system.

Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed personnel, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra shared that this is an honor but also a great responsibility.

The new Deputy Prime Minister and other new personnel pledged to work with the utmost dedication and responsibility, while continuously cultivating and refining revolutionary moral qualities, striving to learn, be open-minded, listen, and innovate their thinking and working methods to produce effective results.
