An Giang has 184 OCOP products achieving from 3 to 5 stars

The People's Committee of An Giang province has issued many mechanisms and policies to encourage and support the development of OCOP products. Up to now, the province has 184 OCOP products from 3 to 5 stars.

An Giang, the headwaters of two major rivers, the Tien and Hau rivers, is famous for its intricate river system and rich natural fish resources. With about 200 species of fish, shrimp and hundreds of other agricultural products, many specialty products have been created to achieve OCOP certification.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, owner of Kim Loan dried snakehead fish facility in Long Kien commune, Cho Moi district, shared: This year, the facility had to increase production after widely promoting to the market. During the recent Tet holiday, Kim Loan dried snakehead fish was present in the market all over the country with a consumption output of about 10 tons such as: dried snakehead fish pieces, dried snakehead fish fibers, hard snakehead fish, snakehead fish, tra fish, striped snakehead fish... especially snakehead fish cheeks and snakehead fish tongue are also dried.

Not only fish products, the production facilities of tung lo mo (beef sausage), a specialty of the Cham people, are also very active. Previously, this dish was only limited to the culinary culture of the Cham people in An Giang province, but now it has become a specialty loved by many diners across the country.

To achieve these achievements, An Giang province has issued many mechanisms and policies to encourage and support production development.

Up to now, An Giang has 184 OCOP products from 3-5 stars, of which there are 5 OCOP products with 5 stars. The OCOP program has created important awareness for people in the whole province about the production of goods and organization of services.

Mr. Tran Thanh Hiep, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang, said: In 2025, the Central Coordination Office, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, chose An Giang province as the host province for the OCOP Forum in the Mekong Delta. Therefore, from the beginning of 2025, we hope that OCOP subjects will further promote the OCOP Program to develop further.
