Ba Ria-Vung Tau - A bright spot in attracting FDI investment.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau is Vietnam's leading economic region, contributing 33% of the country's GDP. With its coastal location and the largest deep-water port system in Vietnam, the province is identified as a gateway to the open sea for the Southeast region and Vietnam as a whole, directly integrating with transoceanic shipping routes. In 2021, despite the rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, investment capital into industrial parks and port services in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province continued to increase sharply, reaching nearly US$1 billion. The province currently ranks 4th out of 63 provinces and cities in attracting FDI from major economic groups such as Japan, South Korea, the United States, Canada, Thailand, and the Netherlands.
