Three expected focuses from the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival

On December 5, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province held a press conference for the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival in 2025. The event will take place from December 27, 2025 to January 4, 2026, and is expected to attract 500,000 visitors to visit and experience.

This is a large-scale event with many impressive cultural, artistic and tourism activities. The opening ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 27, 2025 at Sa Dec Square.

Speaking at the press conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province, emphasized that the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival is an important event not only for tourism but also directly related to the socio -economic development goals of the province.

Sa Dec is in the context of green economic development, agricultural tourism has many opportunities to develop. This year's Festival with the theme "New Day Flowers" carries a very clear message: Sa Dec not only has tradition, but also the desire for innovation and the ability to adapt to new development requirements; not only a cultural - tourism event, but also an important preparation step to affirm its position as the "capital of ornamental flowers in the West".

The Organizing Committee clearly identified the three focuses of the Festival as honoring the value of flower villages - an important foundation for Sa Dec's economy: Aiming to increase the value of flower and ornamental products, standardizing production processes and creating sustainable livelihoods for people; Promoting the image of Dong Thap - Sa Dec effectively and substantially; display, contest and exhibition activities are not only for experience but must create transactions, cooperation and business connections; Mobilizing socialized resources in a transparent and sustainable direction, connecting businesses to the value chain to create new tourism products, new works, new services for long-term tourism development.

The event will display 1,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants, with the aim of promoting the Sa Dec flower village brand.

The activities are expected to attract a large number of tourists to visit and experience, such as: Ancient Sa Dec space, recreating the ancient Sa Dec market space and the ancient Sa Dec flower market. Especially connecting with Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House to create a highlight to attract tourists with the activity "Night telling a love story - Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House".

"Heritage Land" space, exhibition and performance of national intangible cultural heritage of Dong Thap province such as: Southern amateur music art; Dong Thap folk songs; Long Hau commune boat and boat building craft; Dinh An and Dinh Yen commune mat weaving craft; Long Khanh commune robe weaving craft; Lai Vung Nem making craft; Sa Dec rice flour making craft; Truong Dinh festival; Thien Ho Duong and Doc Binh Kieu death anniversary ceremony; Go Thap Lady of the Land festival.

The live show “A Hundred Years of Flower Village Fragrance” honors the hundred-year journey of formation and development of Sa Dec Ornamental Flower Village - from a small riverside craft village to the “Ornamental Flower Capital” of the West, bringing its fragrance and color to the world. At the same time, this is also a tribute to Sa Dec flower and ornamental plant growers, those who have preserved and nurtured the soul of flowers through many generations.

The experiential tour program "Sa Dec Flower Village - Hundred Years of Fragrance and Color", organizes experiential tours (A day as a flower village farmer: participate in taking care of flower beds and seedlings, monitor the development process and own flower pots - bonsai that you take care of; explore Tan Phuoc alum soil, Thoi Son - Cai Be - Tan Phong green island, catch fish in ditches,...). The focus is on visiting experiential tourism activities at Sa Dec Flower Village and connecting with tourist attractions in Lap Vo, Lai Vung, Chau Thanh, Cai Be communes...

In addition, the Organizing Committee also arranged an exhibition space to display OCOP products, typical products of the Mekong Delta region...
