Handing over and putting into use the 6-storey technical building of Simacai Regional General Hospital

The Department of Health, in coordination with the Lao Cai Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board and the Si Ma Cai Regional General Hospital, recently held an acceptance, handover, and commissioning ceremony for the 6-story technical and professional building of the Si Ma Cai Regional General Hospital.

The Si Ma Cai Regional General Hospital construction project, managed by the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, commenced in January 2024 with a total investment of 85 billion VND.

The project encompasses a complex of buildings: a 6-story technical and professional building; an infection control department; an infectious disease department; a fire protection system; exterior and auxiliary facilities… all designed to be modern, convenient, and functional.

The inspection team handed over the departments and wards to the hospital.

The inspection and testing results of the completed works are in accordance with the approved design and are operating normally. The Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board has handed them over to the hospital's board of directors and departments for use.

Si Ma Cai Regional General Hospital is a Grade II hospital with 20 departments and specialized functional units.

In the first six months of 2025, 13,075 patients were examined; the bed occupancy rate reached 106%. Notably, new equipment such as the gastrointestinal endoscopy system, anesthesia machine with ventilator, and respiratory function testing machine have been invested in and used effectively.

The six-story technical building, now in use, not only fulfills the aspirations of the hospital's staff but also meets the growing demand for medical services from the local population.
