Economic and Urban Newspaper launches converged newsroom and digital ecosystem

This morning, October 17, in Hanoi, the Economic and Urban Newspaper officially launched its converged editorial office and digital ecosystem. Representatives of leaders of central ministries and branches; Vietnam Journalists Association ; central and local press agencies; Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper Nguyen Ty attended the launching ceremony.

Implementing the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, the Economic and Urban Newspaper has developed a project to convert the Economic and Urban Newspaper into digital format for the period 2023 - 2025 and orientation to 2030. Thereby, it has organized the operation of a converged newsroom and digital ecosystem to create technological breakthroughs, improve content quality, and bring a better experience to readers.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of Economic and Urban Newspaper Nguyen Thanh Loi said: The converging editorial office and digital ecosystem of Economic and Urban Newspaper is not simply a combination of many publishing and information distribution channels, but a smart and flexible ecosystem, helping Economic and Urban Newspaper achieve the highest efficiency in journalism economics in the digital age. The application of AI, data journalism and modern management tools not only helps optimize the workflow but also helps create high-quality journalism products, meeting the increasingly diverse and rich needs of readers.

The converging editorial office of Economic and Urban Newspapers will publish on multiple platforms integrating various types of newspapers such as print newspapers, electronic newspapers and electronic specialized pages with many outstanding technological features to optimize the workflow.

It allows reporters and editors to manage, edit, and publish content on both print and online newspapers, specialized electronic pages, digital ecosystems (youtube, facebook, twitter, zalo...) from one interface and one single login account, supporting multiple languages, multiple formats, and high customization capabilities.

In addition, all departments can track progress, exchange ideas and coordinate in news production. The Editorial Board plays a coordinating role, ensuring all works are of high quality and released on time. The integration of advanced technology and content production according to digital journalism trends not only meets the needs of readers but also helps the editorial office increase its competitiveness.

In essence, a converged newsroom platform will be the place where all the tools, platforms, data, business processes, and organizational management of a press agency are "converged". From there, optimizing the content production process, improving organizational efficiency, and maximizing cost and human resource savings can be summarized in 4 main aspects: content management (CMS); business processes; integrating artificial intelligence; integrating professional print layout.

One of the outstanding features of the Economic and Urban Newspaper's Converged Editorial System is the integration of electronic office with advanced cloud storage technology. Tasks such as document management and sharing, approval of official dispatches, internal reports, and signature submission are all digitized and synchronized on one system and say no to "paper".
