Taking the top spot in the world of unique and unusual admission letters is the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This year, the school's admission letter is designed as a gift box containing a book, themed "A Journey to Building the Future".
The complete set of admission documents includes: the book "Journey to Building the Future," the 2024 regular university admission letter, a lanyard and card holder, and a personal pen.
"The Journey to Building the Future" has as its central idea the river of knowledge, symbolizing the journey towards the sun, the future that awaits ahead.
Right on the cover is an image of the university's new students standing on the The Huc Bridge, facing the distant sunset. Details in the publication include buildings, roads, Khue Van Cac Pavilion, The Huc Bridge, the river, and artists performing at a street festival...
The school explained that all the names represent the academic disciplines at VNU-SIS, including: Branding, Entertainment, Urban Planning, Heritage, Creative Design, Architecture and Landscape Design, and Visual Arts.
Following that was the welcome letter for new students from the principal. "The future is not a destination, but a journey of effort, willpower honed, and the realization of passions. Empowering the younger generation to create and master the future is the path of the globalization era and also the educational orientation of the school," wrote Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, the school's principal, in his welcome letter.
In addition, inside the card envelopes sent to students are the words "Achievement," designed by Master, artist, and photographer Nguyen The Son - a lecturer in the Perceptual Arts department of the school - conveying to students wishes for good luck, smooth sailing, and success on their "Journey to Building the Future."
This is the fourth consecutive year that the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, has presented a unique admission letter. Previously, students enrolling in 2021, 2022, and 2023 received admission letters with themes such as "Journey of Youth," "Journey to Treasure of Success," and "Journey to Creating Dreams," respectively.
In 2024, many universities across the country also had attractive admission letter templates, reflecting their unique identities and conveying meaningful messages.
At the Diplomatic Academy, the envelopes sent to new students include acceptance letters, enrollment procedure instructions, and a welcome letter. In particular, the welcome letter from the Academy conveys meaningful messages to students in the context of international integration. In the letter, Dr. Pham Lan Dung - Acting Director of the Diplomatic Academy - wrote:
"I wish you many beautiful and meaningful years as a student, filled with learning, training, and growth, nurturing your aspirations, and building a strong mindset to create a bright future for yourself, and further contribute to the development and prosperity of your homeland and world peace."
Le Thi Thanh Lan, a new student majoring in International Communication at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, expressed her joy and excitement upon receiving her acceptance letter. "I feel that the Academy's acceptance letter truly embodies the 'Diplomatic Identity,' and the messages of encouragement in the letter are incredibly relatable. Receiving the acceptance letter has given me more positive energy to begin my new journey and I am proud to be a student of the school," she said.
Many other universities, such as Hanoi Medical University, Eastern University of Technology, Hanoi University, University of Commerce, Phenikka University, etc., also have admission notices with their own unique characteristics. The creativity of these universities has brought excitement to new students, inspiring them and motivating them to study.
