According to information from the Thai Binh Provincial Police, the Hung Ha District Police have issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict and temporarily detain Nguyen Van Khan (born in 1985, residing in Hung Nhan town, Hung Ha district) for the crime of "torturing others".
At the investigative agency, Nguyen Van Khan confessed: Due to his hot temper and desire to discipline his child, Khan had repeatedly used a bamboo stick, sandals, and clothes hangers to beat his nephew NGB, leaving many injuries on his body.
The items seized from Nguyen Van Khan that he used to beat child B.
Most recently, on May 15th, when Khẩn returned home from work and didn't find B. at home, Khẩn went to look for her and used a dry bamboo stick about 60 cm long to hit her multiple times on the buttocks, calves, back, and arms, causing numerous injuries, skin tears, and bleeding. Currently, B. is being treated at Hung Nhan General Hospital in Hung Ha district with multiple injuries including skin abrasions, bruising on the head, chest, shoulders, back, and swelling on both arms.
It is known that in 2018, Khẩn lived with Ms. NTY, residing in Quoc Oai district, Hanoi , as husband and wife, but they were not legally married. During their time together, Ms. Y. became pregnant and gave birth to NGB, after which Ms. Y. disappeared without a trace. However, the birth certificate issued by the People's Committee of Hoa Thach commune, Quoc Oai district, does not indicate the biological father of NGB. Therefore, there is insufficient legal basis to determine whether NGB is Khẩn's biological or legally adopted child.
The police in Hung Ha district have initiated a criminal case and charged Nguyen Van Khan with the crime of "torturing another person," and have collected DNA samples from Khan and child B. for genetic testing to determine their blood relationship.
Nguyen Van Khan himself has two prior convictions for "theft of property" and "robbery of property".
