After three days of intensive work with more than 20 activities, the 47th ASEAN Summit and related meetings concluded successfully.
In his closing remarks, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim thanked all member states and partners for their substantive contributions and sustained efforts that contributed to the success of the conference, an event “led by perseverance and sound judgment in a turbulent time,” a result that exemplifies the “ASEAN way.”
The significant results achieved will further revitalize the regional integration process, enhance the overall strength and position of the ASEAN Community as "inclusive and sustainable," in line with the theme of 2025, helping ASEAN to confidently move forward on a new path of development with 11 members. The results of the meetings between ASEAN and its Partners also affirm ASEAN's central position and role, and help to further strengthen and expand ASEAN's external relations for peace , stability, and development.

Upon assuming the ASEAN chairmanship in 2026 from the Malaysian Prime Minister, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced the theme for ASEAN Year 2026 for the Philippines as “Navigating our future together,” with three major priorities: strengthening peace and security, enhancing corridors of prosperity, and promoting people's empowerment.

The Vietnamese delegation, led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, actively participated and effectively contributed to nearly 20 multilateral activities within the framework of the conference, sharing many important directions shaping the future of ASEAN. The friendly relations and substantive cooperation between Vietnam and its partners were also genuinely promoted through more than 20 bilateral meetings.

Vietnam's contributions, proposals, and initiatives focus on promoting the building of a united, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable ASEAN Community, centered on the people, linking national development with regional development. Through this, Vietnam continues to demonstrate its role as an active, positive, and responsible member, making practical contributions to strengthening internal solidarity, enhancing ASEAN's central role, and promoting peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region.
On the evening of October 28th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation departed Kuala Lumpur for home, successfully concluding their working visit.
