TPO - On the morning of January 16th, a large number of staff, doctors, nurses, and patients at Cho Ray Hospital had the opportunity to experience the Spring Flower Street for the Year of the Snake 2025. This is a meaningful activity for patients and their relatives who have to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) in the hospital.
In the joyful atmosphere of preparing for the traditional Lunar New Year, all staff and employees of Cho Ray Hospital are actively completing the spring flower street as a meaningful gift, bringing joy and warmth to patients and their families during the Year of the Snake.
Although operating within the hospital grounds, all departments meticulously decorated their booths to be visually appealing, hoping to alleviate some of the pressure and instill confidence in patients and their families as they battle illness.
Ms. Tam was on the phone with her mother, who was in her treatment room, and shared: "My mother is undergoing hemodialysis in the ward. Her health is stable now, but she can't walk yet. I saw this activity, so I called her via FaceTime. Having this flower street during the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year) helps patients and their families feel less sad and lonely."
"Celebrating Tet in the hospital is something no one wants, but I'm very grateful to the doctors and nurses at the hospital for putting in the effort to create this flower street. I see my child is also very excited, even though he's still in pain," Mr. Lam shared, taking his child to see the flower street in a wheelchair.
Somewhere amidst the pressures of life, the battle with illness, the economic burden... everyone still tries to share joy and build self-confidence by participating in this activity organized by Cho Ray Hospital.
"For the new year, I only wish for one thing: that patients here and everywhere will recover quickly," this female hospital staff member shared.
Associate Professor and Doctor Tran Thi Bich Huong, a retired staff member who still works as an advisor for the hospital, joined in the festivities with the patients. This year, Ms. Bich Xuan (from Binh Chanh district) celebrated her second Tet holiday in the hospital. Ms. Xuan was eager to see the flower-decorated streets, even though she still had to carry her electric syringe pump for heart failure patients.
This year, 73 departments of Cho Ray Hospital once again joined forces to create a flower street with a variety of unique and diverse decorations. All of this aims to recreate a simple, intimate, and loving Tet (Lunar New Year) celebration, helping to alleviate some of the homesickness felt by patients.
Flower-lined paths display the vibrant colors of spring amidst Cho Ray Hospital.
