Turn passion into a brand in the amateur football village

Le Quan was born in 1991 in Duy Xuyen, Quang Nam . He moved to Ho Chi Minh City to study at a college in 2008, but it wasn't until 2016 that his connection with amateur football came about after many years playing on Saigon's amateur pitches. At that time, Quan was working at a jewelry design company and bravely organized an amateur football tournament for the Duy Xuyen hometown association in Ho Chi Minh City.

Despite lacking experience and funding, the tournament at Celadon City Stadium in Tan Phu that year went smoothly, with packed stands and exciting, dramatic matches. Le Quan's name began to gain recognition in amateur football. This initial success served as the motivation and foundation for the commentator Le Quan we know today.

Commentator Lê Quân has left his mark on the amateur football scene in the South.

“ Initially, I just intended to do it for fun, because I didn't think I would actually pursue a career as a commentator. When I first started, I was still working for a company, so I only did commentary on weekends. From doing it for fun, it turned into liking, and from liking it to falling deeply in love with it. This job requires real passion to succeed, and the more I do it, the more I love it, ” Le Quan revealed.

Coming from a background without formal training in journalism or languages, Le Quan shared that he faced many difficulties in the early days of his career as a commentator.

The challenge in organizing and commentating on amateur leagues is that information about the players must be gathered independently, as it's not readily available online like in professional football leagues. Therefore, those working in this field need to be diligent, possess strong analytical and synthesis skills.

Born and raised in the countryside of Quang Nam province, Quan's voice in the early days of his career still had a strong local accent and was difficult for audiences to understand. Therefore, Le Quan had to undergo rigorous daily training, practicing to pronounce standard Vietnamese correctly, and learning from professional commentators and senior colleagues to achieve the commentary style he has today.

This job also requires good health as it involves constant speaking and working at a high frequency. Le Quan shared that there were times when he had to travel constantly across provinces and cities nationwide to cover tournaments. “ On peak days, I had to fly 2-3 times a day, arriving in Hanoi in the morning, then in Ca Mau in the afternoon, and then packing my bags to go to Dak Lak at night to cover a children's tournament ,” the commentator revealed.

Commentator Lê Quân participated in a charity fundraising event for artist Mạc Can.

Over the years, Le Quan has owned numerous fan pages with a huge number of likes, followers, and interactions on social media. He is also an inspirational figure for young people because of his thirst for knowledge, his unwavering determination to pursue his passion, his awareness of current trends, his decisiveness, and his willingness to think outside the box and take risks in his work and life.

Besides having a large fan base, Quân is also loved by his colleagues, friends, and everyone around him for his sociable, friendly, and compassionate personality. In addition to his work, Quân regularly organizes charitable activities to help those in difficult circumstances.
