The end of the year is a time when consumer demand increases, particularly for essential goods needed for the Lunar New Year. To ensure a balance between supply and demand, and to proactively control and regulate prices, relevant authorities need to actively implement various solutions.
Coming During the Lunar New Year holiday, the goods market has been heating up day by day. Due to increased consumer demand, supermarkets, distributors, and traditional markets have proactively imported and stockpiled essential goods such as rice, cooking oil, poultry, livestock, and especially cakes, candies, jams, and soft drinks. Many businesses are actively implementing attractive promotional programs, especially for high-demand items, to stimulate purchasing power, contribute to price stabilization, and control inflation.
According to information from the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, major distribution businesses in the city proactively prepared their goods two months before Tet (Lunar New Year), sourcing both domestically and through imports. The Department has proactively developed plans to ensure the supply of goods and stabilize prices; at the same time, it will closely monitor the supply and demand of goods, and solutions to regulate the supply will be implemented promptly. Accordingly, the product groups and quantities requiring supply-demand balancing include: rice, pork, chicken, duck, seafood, poultry eggs, processed foods, vegetables, sugar, cooking oil, spices, milk for children under 6 years old, and high-demand items during the Tet season such as Tet jam, confectionery, wine, beer, and soft drinks.

In addition, relevant agencies should continue to develop a network of price-stabilized sales outlets in rural areas, remote areas, and mountainous districts; encouraging units to participate in the program to invest in the development of modern distribution models such as supermarkets and convenience stores to promote the consumption of price-stabilized goods. Develop a plan to organize mobile sales trips early, bringing price-stabilized goods to serve people in rural, remote, and mountainous areas, in conjunction with promoting and supporting the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, as proposed by districts, towns, and cities, to meet the consumption needs of people during the traditional Tet holiday.
In addition to designating units eligible for loan support to implement the market stabilization program, localities need to have mechanisms to attract businesses, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers of essential goods for Tet that meet the conditions and requirements to participate in the program; effectively act as a bridge between large production and distribution businesses and localities to establish sustainable production and supply chains, creating a stable supply of goods for the market at reasonable prices; and strengthen monitoring of the supply and demand situation of essential goods in the country to serve consumer needs.
