This year, the President of Vietnam awarded the title of People's Teacher to 21 teachers and the title of Excellent Teacher to 1,167 people.

At today's ceremony, authorized by the President of Vietnam, the Ministry of Education and Training is awarding the title of People's Teacher to 21 teachers from various ministries, sectors, and localities, and the title of Excellent Teacher to 65 teachers under the Ministry of Education and Training.

In 2024, after eight rounds of selecting outstanding teachers, the Minister of Education and Training signed a decision to award Certificates of Merit to 1,851 teachers.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son believes that excellent, dedicated, exemplary teachers, and especially outstanding teachers, play a pivotal, leading role and have a significant ripple effect.

“Present at today’s event are People’s Teachers, Excellent Teachers, and exemplary teachers and education administrators of the sector, meaning those who have played a particularly important role in the reform and development of education,” the Minister said. He expressed his recognition and high appreciation for the contributions of these teachers to the education sector, to the country’s scientific and innovative endeavors over the past time.

“Education is difficult, and genuine education, education based on morality, education aimed at high quality, engaging learners, and spreading a spirit of creativity and endless learning inspiration is even more challenging. To achieve the titles of People's Teacher, Excellent Teacher, and Exemplary Teacher, teachers have been dedicated and passionate about their profession, making many contributions, overcoming difficulties and challenges to express themselves and spread positive values. I hope that teachers will continue to demonstrate their important role, spreading to colleagues, students, and society the spirit of how they have become excellent, contributing to making our profession have more and more excellent people, and especially spreading excellence forever,” Mr. Son said.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son stated that in the coming period, the education sector will face many challenges in order to overcome them and successfully accomplish its major tasks.

To successfully accomplish major tasks, the entire education sector must be highly determined and possess many necessary conditions. Among these, the human factor, particularly teachers and education administrators, plays a especially important role.

People's teachers, outstanding teachers, and exemplary teachers will be the key figures in making the best use of their experience, intellect, determination, and creativity, while also sharing, spreading, and inspiring positive values ​​and multiplying good deeds within the teaching community.

The head of the education sector also expressed his hope that teachers would continue to learn and innovate, overcoming their own limitations to best utilize their excellence.

"Teachers are outstanding individuals who need to be the core for solving new and difficult problems. Excellence doesn't wait for assignments or requests; it needs to be demonstrated through a spirit of dedication, responsibility, initiative, and enthusiasm in what has been done, is being done, and needs to be done for the country's education."
